Showers and thunderstorms are forecast near the coast on Thursday, with scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms across all of Alabama Friday into Friday night. Periods of heavy rainfall will occur statewide both Saturday and Sunday, and mainly across areas south of I-20 on Monday.

Although scattered showers are forecast south of I-20 on Tuesday, the heaviest precipitation will have ended. Total rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches are forecast throughout the weekend, and as shown in the graphic above, widespread totals of 3-5 inches are expected through Tuesday.

Some areas could receive 5+ inch totals by early next week, and flooding could occur each day from Saturday through Monday. Currently, there is little threat of damaging wind gusts of 60 mph or higher.
