September is National Preparedness Month in America – and preparedness was the theme at the “Redstone Ready” Preparedness Roundup in Huntsville.

Many emergency managers, first responders and other officials were at the Arsenal to discuss the importance of being prepared before disasters.

Being in Huntsville, of course technology was a big part of the day. AT&T demonstrated their FirstNet solution that helps first responders and emergency managers maintain consistent communication during disasters.

The Alabama EMA brought its new Mobile Command Vehicle to the event – this vehicle also helps connect local, state and federal officials during disaster, which gets help faster to the people who need it most.

Perhaps most importantly, the event was an opportunity to build new relationships and improve existing ones – relationships that almost always prove very useful in times of crisis.
