(Mobile) – Officials from the Alabama Emergency Management Agency met with members of an elite emergency rapid-response group based in Mobile called Task Force One.
Task Force 1 (TF1) is an expert-level urban search and rescue team based in Mobile and sponsored by Mobile Fire Rescue Department and Saraland Fire. Comprised of search and rescue specialists, K-9 teams, structural engineers, trauma doctors and nurses, equipment operators, logistics specialists and command/support personnel, they are ready to deploy at a moment’s notice.

TF1 is self-sustaining, meaning they bring in the supplies needed to support themselves and do not add to the strain on already-limited resources in times of disaster.
TF1 and other organizations like it are part of AMAS – Alabama Mutual Aid System, a statewide network of emergency response organizations designed to provide mutual aid when local resources are overwhelmed.
These teams are ready to mobilize and deploy to other parts of the state or country in times of significant disasters.
