An Extreme Heat Warning continues today for coastal Mobile and Baldwin counties due to Heat Index values up to 115, and most of central and all of southern Alabama under a Heat Advisory for Heat Index Values from 106-112.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are forecast to move through the southern portions of the state during the afternoon and evening hours both today and Thursday.  A few wind gusts from 40-60 mph are possible each day, mainly south of a Livingston – Montgomery – Auburn line.

Another round of storms is possible across much of the state from Friday evening into Saturday morning, with numerous showers and thunderstorms likely during the afternoon and evening hours from Saturday through Sunday.  A few storms each day could produce wind gusts from 40-60 mph, but widespread severe weather will not occur.

The good news is that, due to increased cloud cover and precipitation, the Heat Warning and Advisory will most likely be discontinued after today.
