A line of storms will continue to move southward across the southern half of the state through early this evening.   Some damaging straight-line wind gusts and hail will be the main threats, and one or two tornadoes may also be possible.  There have been reports of trees downed and blocking roadways across parts of northern and central Alabama.  If a warning is issued for your area, get to a safe location on the lowest floor until the storms pass.  North of the line, the severe threat has ended.

Between 0.5 – 2 inches of rainfall will occur through this evening with some spots north of I-20 with up to three inches.  Brief and localized flooding may occur.

Once the line passes, the threat of severe weather will have ended for the day with no additional storm development behind the line.

After a tranquil Saturday, another upper-level disturbance will produce scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms mainly south of I-20 from early Sunday morning into early Monday morning.  A couple of damaging wind gusts will be possible Sunday afternoon and evening in the far southern sections of the state.
