Heat And Humidity Continue This Week

Heat Advisories have been expanded to include much of the western half of Alabama into Tuesday evening.  Heat Index values could get as high as 104-108, both this afternoon and Tuesday afternoon.

Statewide high temperatures through Wednesday will be in the lower to middle 90s, upper 80s to middle 90s Thursday, and middle 80s to lower 90s Friday through Sunday.  Overnight low temperatures will be in the lower to middle 70s through Friday, with upper 60s north and 70s elsewhere both Saturday and Sunday. 

Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible during the afternoon and evening hours today through Thursday, with increased precipitation coverage Thursday through Sunday.    

Erin is a dangerous Category 4 major hurricane that will move northward through Wednesday, then turn northeastward.   A tropical wave in the eastern Atlantic has a 50% chance of development and could become a tropical depression late this week.
