Icy Spots Today With Cold Temperatures Into Next Week

CLANTON – Saturday, 6:30 am January 11, 2025

As of 6 am, temperatures at most locations south of I-20 have remained above freezing overnight.  In addition, gusty winds overnight have aided in the drying process on many roadways.  Still, a few icy spots are possible through mid-morning south of I-20.  There are likely more icy spots near and north of I-20 which could continue into the afternoon.

High temperatures today range from the mid 30s north to upper 40s south.  Winds 5-10 mph with gusts up to 20 mph statewide into the afternoon will continue to aid in evaporating moisture on roadways.  Tonight will be very cold with lows from the teens north to lower 30s south.

High temperatures from Sunday through Thursday will range from the 30s north to 50s south.  Low temperatures Monday morning range from the 20s north to around 40 south, then teens north to 20s south Tuesday through Thursday.

All rain will affect areas south of I-20 from Sunday evening through Monday.  Less than 1 inch of total precipitation is forecast.

Finally, areas of fog and freezing fog are possible near and north of a Hamilton – Cullman – Fort Payne line both Saturday night into Sunday morning and Sunday night into Monday morning.
