A Mesoscale Convective System (MCS) has entered northern Alabama late this morning and will move southeastward during the afternoon and early evening. Damaging straight-line winds, frequent lightning, torrential rainfall with localized flooding and a tornado or two are all possible.
Another MCS is forecast to enter areas north of I-20 around 12 am and continue into mid to late Friday morning. A few damaging wind gusts and flooding rainfall are possible. It is still unclear on the exact timing and location of the second MCS.

Redevelopment of thunderstorms is possible late Friday morning into the afternoon across the western and southern portions of the state. Again, there is much uncertainty of exactly where and amount of severe storms with this third wave.
Finally, at least scattered thunderstorms are forecast statewide Saturday and Sunday and a couple of storms could produce damaging wind gusts each day.
