Governor Bentley to Participate in 2016 Hurricane Exercise
CLANTON- Governor Robert Bentley on Wednesday will join other state officials in Clanton at the Emergency Operations Center for the 2016 hurricane exercise.
The purpose of this hurricane exercise is to simulate the ability of the Alabama Emergency Management Agency to coordinate state resources to respond to a natural disaster. This exercise also examines the interaction between state, federal and local agencies. Approximately 75 state employees, federal representatives, private nonprofit agencies and private sector partners are scheduled to participate in the exercise. Hurricane season begins June 1.
The Governor will address members participating in the exercise at 10:15 a.m. and then have a media availability to discuss the importance of hurricane preparedness.
