Alabama Request Federal Assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration

Clanton- At the request of Governor Robert Bentley, Alabama Emergency Management Agency is seeking assistance from the U.S. Small Business Administration as an avenue to support individuals affected by the severe weather that occurred on February 2 through 3, 2016. Pickens County residents suffered significant damage to homes and businesses as the storm system impacted Alabama with strong winds and tornados.

If the SBA request is granted, homeowners, renters and business owners will have access to low-interest disaster loans. The declaration will benefit Pickens and its adjacent counties which include Fayette, Green, Lamar, Sumter and Tuscaloosa in Alabama and Lowndes and Noxubee Counties in Mississippi.
