About the AEMAPlanning. Preparedness. Response. You know how you are supposed to call 911 and ask for help in an emergency? Well, the Alabama Emergency Management Agency (or AEMA, for short) is a lot like Alabama's very own 911 system. You see, whenever there's an emergency in our state, the AEMA is called on to help the people in our area to plan, prepare and respond to a disaster. And because it's impossible to know when or where a natural or man-made disaster will occur, the best thing that we can do is to help you to be prepared at all times! The AEMA is here to help keep you, your family and your belongings safe. We keep a watchful eye out on nasty weather conditions or anything else that might pose a threat to the people of Alabama. We work very hard to help local communities when they are affected by disasters such as tornadoes, floods or hurricanes. And whenever there is ever a really big emergency, it's our job to make sure that everyone gets the help they need from all over the United States. It's our job to help you plan, prepare and respond in the case of a disaster. But we need your help! It's up to you and your family to know how to prepare and what to do in the case of any emergency. With your help, we can all stay safe! | |
